Steps and Instruction -
In this tutorial we will see how to set up a free VPN on Kali Linux
For those who don't know what a VPN is - VPN (Virtual Private Network) is a intermediate between you and the Internet. (I don't like hectic definitions)
It gives you a cover to your location, PC info, IP address, host and other stuff that can trace you.
If you are Pen Testing or hacking you can say, some times you need to be on a VPN to close your info. So we use VPN for that.
Steps -
First we need to go to this website which offers free VPN
www.vpnbook.com
And move to "free VPN" tab
Scroll down and download a file called "US2 OpenVPN Certificate Bundle"
The file size is just 9 bytes man.
After downloading it, copy the file (which will be in the download folder) and paste it on the desktop.
Unzip the files. (open the folder and drag every item on the desktop)
Open a terminal and move to the file location by typing
"cd Desktop/"
Now we need to run a file called "vpnbook-us2-tcp443.vpn"
so type in "openvpn vpnbook-us2-tcp443.vpn"
It will ask you for the Username and Password.
Both are on the website where you clicked on download.
Scroll down to see the user name and password. Enter the password and rest it will do.
It will take some time to set up.
You will get a message saying "sequence completed"
Your VPN is ready.
Go ahead and ask your IP to google or search for WTF is my IP
After this I want to talk about anonymity.
I don't trust any VPN, not even the payed once.
